Restaurants

Architectural Design + Construction Coordination

This project reimagines a fast-casual restaurant as a carefully composed interior that balances efficiency with warmth. The design is rooted in clarity of movement and visibility, allowing guests to intuitively understand how the space works while remaining visually engaged with the food preparation and dining areas.

The layout is organized along a clear linear sequence. Guests enter into an open dining room defined by communal tables and smaller seating areas that support both shared and individual use. The service counter and open kitchen anchor the space, placing food preparation at the center of the experience. Vertical rotisserie stations are fully visible from the dining area, reinforcing transparency and emphasizing the craft behind the menu.

Material selection plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere. Exposed brick walls and steel framing reference the existing urban context, while warm wood surfaces soften the space and provide tactile contrast. Custom millwork at the counters and banquettes introduces texture and rhythm, with angled wood panels guiding movement and visually grounding the service areas. The ceiling treatment above the kitchen further reinforces this focus, creating a distinct zone without enclosing it.

Lighting is used deliberately to define scale and comfort. Pendant fixtures hover above communal tables, creating intimate pockets within the larger room, while concealed lighting at the counters highlights material transitions and reinforces the linear flow of the space. Daylight from street-facing windows connects the interior to the surrounding neighborhood and maintains a strong relationship to the public realm.

The restaurant is designed to be durable, adaptable, and long-lasting. Materials were selected for their resilience and ease of maintenance, supporting the demands of high-traffic use while aging gracefully over time. The result is an interior that feels contemporary without relying on trends, allowing the architecture to serve the food, the staff, and the everyday rhythm of the city.

This project demonstrates how fast-casual dining can move beyond purely functional interiors, creating a space that is efficient, welcoming, and closely connected to its urban context.
