Delverton Villa 225

Mui Ne, Vietnam

Residences

Master Planning + Design

This project is one of four residential prototypes developed for Delverton Resorts in Mui Ne, Vietnam, conceived as a flexible system rather than a single, fixed design. Each prototype explores a modernist approach to living in a tropical coastal climate, balancing openness, shade, and privacy while maintaining a clear architectural language across the resort.

The architecture is organized as a series of simple, stacked volumes defined by strong horizontal lines, deep overhangs, and screened façades. These elements respond directly to sun, wind, and rain, allowing the buildings to breathe while protecting interior spaces from heat and glare. Operable louvers and layered façades filter light throughout the day, creating shifting interior conditions that connect occupants to the landscape without sacrificing comfort.

Inside, the layouts prioritize clarity and flow. Living, dining, and sleeping spaces are arranged to maximize cross ventilation and visual connections to the outdoors. Large sliding openings extend interior rooms onto terraces and gardens, blurring the boundary between inside and outside and reinforcing the resort’s relationship to its coastal setting. Materials are restrained and tactile, with warm wood tones, concrete, and glass used to create a calm, contemporary palette that complements the surrounding landscape.

As a set, the four prototypes are designed to work together as a cohesive neighborhood while allowing variation in orientation, views, and site conditions. The result is a collection of modern residences that feel both disciplined and relaxed, rooted in modernist principles but adapted to the climate, culture, and rhythms of Mui Ne.
