Granada

The Granada project was conceived as a fast, efficient design solution for a developer team working within a tight budget and an accelerated schedule. From the outset, the goal was to create a contemporary, market-ready home that maximized appeal and functionality while minimizing unnecessary complexity in both design and construction.

The layout was organized around a clear, open plan that brings the kitchen, dining, and living spaces together as a single social core. A generous island anchors the kitchen, doubling as a work surface and informal gathering space, while streamlined cabinetry and durable finishes were selected to balance cost control with a refined, modern aesthetic. The openness of the plan allows natural light to penetrate deep into the interior, creating a sense of spaciousness that exceeds the home’s footprint.

Material choices were deliberate and pragmatic. Clean lines, simple detailing, and a restrained palette reduced construction time and coordination challenges, while still delivering a polished result. Built-in storage, efficient appliance layouts, and flexible dining and seating zones support everyday living and enhance the project’s long-term value for both residents and investors.

A critical component of the project’s success was speed. By prioritizing clear design decisions early and aligning closely with permitting requirements, the team was able to expedite drawings and secure approvals quickly. This streamlined process reduced carrying costs for the developer and allowed construction to move forward without delay.

Part of this strategy was to define options for the kitchen design. The owner's went through a series of options for the countertops, backsplash tiles, and whether or not to keep any open shelving. Our 3D modeling and renderings gave quick feedback to the owner's allowing them to move forward on design choices more confidently.

The Granada project demonstrates how thoughtful design, even under tight financial and time constraints, can produce a cohesive, modern home.
