Tucked into the heart of Manhattan Beach, the 12th Place residence is a careful balance of design upgrades and budget strategy. The homeowners wanted to refresh their space—something bright, inviting, and modern—without going overboard. With a few subtle but intentional changes, we were able to dramatically improve the look and flow of both the kitchen and family room.
We started by repainting the existing cabinetry, which instantly lifted the whole space, and added custom inserts for better functionality. New hardware gave everything a cleaner, more modern feel. Layered lighting was introduced so the family could shift from bright task lighting to softer, more relaxed settings depending on the occasion.
Because appliances are often the biggest line item in a remodel, we chose timeless, durable pieces that would last. The 48" Wolf range and the matching 36" Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer brought a pro-style presence, their stainless finishes ensuring they’ll pair well with future updates.
Beyond the kitchen, the home received a cohesive refresh: new paint inside and out, updated lighting throughout, a stone herringbone backsplash, and a thoughtful remodel of key spaces. The result is a home that feels both renewed and enduring—modern, warm, and designed to live well.
